DESTINATIONS: Delhi – Agra – Fatehpur Sikri / Abhaneri / Castle Kanota – Jaipur – Pushkar – Khempur – Udaipur

The Real Marigold Hotel (known in Australia as The Indian Dream Hotel) is a British travel documentary series created by Twofour productions and broadcast on BBC One and BBC Two. The show, whose name is based on the film “The Marigold Hotel” follows famous elderly celebrities as they travel around India and experience the culture. In 2017, the show was nominated for a BAFTA in the category of Best Reality and Constructed Factual.

Day 01: Delhi Arrival
Upon arrival in Delhi, our representatives will greet and assist to transfer you to pre booked hotel. Freshen up and relax at the hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a combined full day guided sightseeing tour of old and new Delhi includes visiting Red fort, Jama Masjid, RajGhat, India Gate, President house, Qutub Minar, National Museum, Lotus Temple etc. Drive back to the hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02: Delhi – Agra
Drive to Agra (200 kms/5 hours) en route visiting Sikandra, which is home to the mausoleum of Emperor Akbar that lies at the centre of a huge garden, enclosed by high walls. Upon arrival at Agra, check-in at your hotel. After fresh up and some rest, visit Taj Mahal -the symbol of love, Agra Fort and tomb of itmad ud daulah. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03: Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Castle Kanota
Early morning, again visit Taj Mahal for superb view at sunrise and After will go back to hotel for breakfast and Later drive to Jaipur en-route visit "Fatehpur Sikri" – The deserted, red sandstone city, Emperor Akbar built that as his capital and palace in the late 16th century. Also visit the buland darwaza, the largest gateway in the world. En-route visit "Abhaneri- Chand Baori" The place is popular for the amazing 'Boris' (step wells) and Harshat Mata Temple. The village of Abhaneri is believed to be established by the King Raja Chand. Originally Abhaneri was named as Abha Nagri, which means the city of brightness, but due to the mispronunciation of the term, it is changed to the present name.Step wells are the unique concept of India. These big tanks were used as cool places of resort and water reservoir in parched days. It was a ritual to wash hands and feet before visiting the temple. Adjoining the Chand Baori. On arrival Kanota, check into hotel. overnight at the hotel.

Day 04: Castel Kanota – Jaipur
After the breakfast in morning, VISIT THE VICEROY CLUB – CASTLE KANOTA built in 1872 and spread over 8 acres of land, was the venue for the Viceroy Club and several of Celia Imrie and Ronald Pickup’s scenes in the film. It’s located on the outskirts of Jaipur, about half an hour’s drive away. The hotel offers 18 spacious rooms and a built-in museum, all decorated in a traditional heritage style and evoking the grandeur of princely Rajasthan.
Later we will drive to Jaipur Pink city. On arrival to Jaipur, check into your pre-booked hotel and rest and get ready for the day. In leisure time, explore local market of Jaipur and enjoy shopping at market place. Return back to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 05: Jaipur Sightseeing
After breakfast proceed for excursion of Jaipur, The Pink City stands out as one of the most spectacular and vibrant destinations on the planet, its rich lineage, striking culture and beautiful architecture painting a vivid picture of Indian society. Missing out on The City Palace, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Nahargarh Fort, Amber Fort, Royal Gaitor, Khatu Haveli etc.but make sure you reserve time for those chaotic bazaars and delicious cuisines. Jaipur is also known for its traditional handicrafts and unique souvenirs such as camel-leather slippers.The vibrant Janta Bazaar (The Flower Market) was where Sonny bought marigolds for his girlfriend, Sunaina. Here, colourful marigolds and other flowers are made into garlands, and sold briskly as offerings to beloved deities in temples and roadside shrines. Enjoy a delicious dinner at Bar Palladio. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06: Jaipur – Pushkar
Morning after breakfast drive to Pushkar. On arrival check in at hotel. Late afternoon short city tour of pushkar visiting “brahma temple” – the only temple in world. As per hindu mythology brahma is creator of world. Also visit famous Pushkar cattle ground near Pushkar Lake where famous cattle fair is organized every year in November month. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07: Pushkar – Khempur
Have a morning breakfast at hotel and then drive to Khempur. Upon arrival, our representative will assist you to check into your hotel. Ravla Khempur is the actual hotel used in the movie as ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’. It was originally a tribal chieftain’s palace, but now it operates as an equestrian hotel in the village of Khempur. The title ‘Ravla’ in Rajasthan refers to the home of a village chieftain”. In earlier days, the Ravla was the focal point of the entire village. Functions such as community welfare, the collection of taxes, administration of law and order, and the initiation of festivals took place in the Ravla. Ravla Khempur exudes historical ambience and is graced with breathtaking surroundings. The lofty terraces, open courtyards, sprawling gardens, domes, arches and canopied balconies transport one back in time. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 08: Khempur – Udaipur
Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel and drive to the Romantic City – Udaipur, this city is also referred to as the “Venice of the East”, the “Most Romantic City of India”. Upon arrival in the city of lakes – Udaipur, our representative will assist you to transfer you to the designated hotel and rest of the day free at leisure, overnight stay at hotel.

Day 09: Udaipur Sightseeing
After hearty breakfast at the hotel, embark on full day sightseeing tour of This romantic city is dominated by the massive City Palace, which overlooks Lake Pichola and its dreamy island palaces, including the Lake Palace seen in the film. The Lake Palace is over 250 years old, and now a luxury hotel run by the Taj group. Also visit Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandir, Pratap Memorial, etc. In the evening also enjoy boat ride over the romantic water of breathtakingly beautiful Pichola Lake and see the mesmerizing view of sunset here, Scenes were also shot at the Jagat Niwas Palace, where the characters had rooftop drinks.

Day 10: Udaipur Departure
This short tour ends here. Today we will drop you to airport / railway station for your journey onward, with the beautiful memories.
